   What is Mobile Presence™ for Yahoo! Merchants? What is included in this service?

Mobile Presence™ for Yahoo! Merchants is a mobile web site for your Yahoo! store. It's a full version of your current product catalog, formatted for every kind of mobile device. Our platform retrieves all your products from your store and generates mobile optimized web pages (product as well as checkout pages) for your store. Any new orders placed on your mobile site are automatically placed in to the Yahoo! backend. Hence you do not have to do anything different to process mobile orders.

Mobile Presence for Yahoo! Merchants is NOT an iPhone or Android Client application. If you are interested in a client application, please send us an e-mail.

   I completed the steps above. When will my mobile site be ready?
Your mobile site will be ready for your review in 72 hours once you completed all necessary steps.
   What is a mobile redirect? When will it be turned on for my site?
Mobile redirect sends your web traffic coming from mobile devices to your mobile site. Deploy the javascript code on your web site to enable the mobile redirect.
Here are the detailed instructions to setup the mobile redirect:
  • In the Store Editor, click on "Contents" button. Once you are on the content page, click on "index" link. This will open the similar store editor template with yellow buttons on the top.
  • Now click on the "Variables" button that opens a page with lot of fields. Scroll down to a field called "header tags" (in the second section).
  • Add the following code in the top of the header tags text area:
    <script type="text/javascript" >
    var website = "YOURDOMAIN.com";
    var mobilesite = "m.YOURDOMAIN.com";
    </script>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://s3.amazonaws.com/mobileredirect/mobileredirector.js"></script>
  • Note: Remember to replace "YOURDOMAIN" with your store's domain name.
  • Make sure you save the changes by clicking the "Update" button.
  • Now publish your store by clicking the yellow "Publish" button on the store editor main page.
  • Open a browser and connect to your store. Open the page source (double click and use view source) and search for mobile - you should see the javascript tag you added in the header section of the HTML. Try connecting to your store from a mobile phone and it should automatically redirect to your mobile site.
Your mobile traffic is NOT automatically redirected till you enable mobile redirect.
   How do you build my mobile site? How do you retrieve my products and category pages?
We build your mobile site by retrieving your product and category information from catalog.xml (only available for Merchant Solutions Stores) and objinfo.xml (for Legacy and Merchant Solutions Stores) files you publish. Setup instructions above explains how to setup category structures.
   How do I process the orders placed on my mobile site?
Orders placed on your mobile site are automatically placed in Yahoo! backend infrastructure. You will be following the same process you normally follow to ship orders placed via your web store.
   How can I create category/section pages on my mobile site?
The section pages you create on your Yahoo! store are automatically retrieved and created on mobile site using the RTML feed we upload. If your store has customizations that prevent the RTML feed from working, you will need to provide a section feed.
  • Create a csv feed file with the following format:
    "section-id","space-seperated-list-of-section-ids-or-product-ids"
