Unbound’s Mobile Presence platform was built to fit into the retailer’s existing digital infrastructure and to leverage their existing data assets. It is delivered as a hosted service using the Software-as-a-Service model to further minimize deployment costs and time.
In simple terms, the Mobile Presence platform is designed to provide retailers with a mobile-optimized presentation layer to their existing data infrastructure. The platform uses existing media assets such as product catalog feeds, image and video libraries. Standard secure web services calls tie into existing account information and business logic. Once set up, the mobile site is automatically kept up-to date with the retailer’s existing infrastructure.
Our offering includes online redirectors capable of detecting mobile traffic on the retailer‘s existing site and redirecting traffic to the mobile site to avoid losing this critical source of mobile traffic.
Optimized Customer Experience
Unbound Commerce’s optimized experience starts at the foundation layer. With a database containing data on thousands of handsets, the Unbound Mobile Presence platform detects the model of the phone, its browser type, screen size and web technology, to uniquely optimize the user experience to the capability of the consumer handset; allowing the use of rich AJAX capability on an iPhone, but fitting within the 10K XHTML restriction on a Motorola RAZR.

Built on top of the foundation layer, Unbound Commerce has developed applications targeted at retailers and consumer product manufacturers. This set of applications and widgets translates into a rich mobile presence for your customers that can be deployed quickly and cost effectively.
Because of the integration with the main website, consumers enjoy a seamless experience across these two channels. For example, the customer may capture items on a wish list on her mobile that is then called up when the customer visits the store where she can touch & feel the products. Similarly, a product ordered online can be tracked on mobile.
